This site is designed to collect as little personal information as practical. There are no advertising pixels, behavioral-ad profiles, or account sign-ups.
This notice applies to charliemiller.info, which is operated by Charlie Miller. It does not govern TheGreyMatter.ai or other sites and services linked here; those services publish their own notices and terms.
If you post a community comment, the alias, comment, reply relationship, and posting time may be displayed publicly. Do not post confidential, regulated, sensitive, or identifying information. The form is designed to reject email addresses and certain unsafe content, but automated checks cannot prevent every disclosure.
When you comment, react, or report content, the site creates a random identifier in your browser. The server receives a one-way hash derived from that identifier—not your name or email—to reduce duplicate actions, rate-limit abuse, and support moderation. Comment, reaction, report, and moderation records may be retained while the community feature is active or as reasonably needed for security, legal, and abuse-prevention purposes.
The site may store limited preferences on your device, such as whether you have seen the opening animation, your motion preference, saved command-center links, and the random community identifier. The free workbenches build outputs locally in your browser; the site does not transmit or save what you type into those tools. Local information remains until you clear it through the feature or your browser settings.
Like most websites, the hosting and security infrastructure may process request details such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested page, timestamp, and security signals. This information is used to deliver the site, diagnose failures, and protect it from abuse. Provider logs are governed by the host's configuration and retention practices.
If you use an email link, your message is sent through your email provider to Charlie's provider. The message, address, and related correspondence are used to respond, evaluate a possible engagement, maintain business records, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send confidential, regulated, or sensitive information by ordinary email.
Information is used only to operate and secure the site, publish and moderate the community space, respond to messages, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Where applicable, these activities rely on your deliberate action, steps requested before a possible agreement, legitimate interests in running a safe site, or legal obligations.
This site does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be processed by hosting, infrastructure, and email providers that help deliver the site, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, comply with law, or complete a business transition subject to appropriate protections. The site currently does not use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics.
You can clear browser-stored data through your browser settings. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of information reasonably associated with you by emailing [email protected]. Include enough detail to locate a public comment without sending unnecessary identity documents. The response and any required verification will depend on the information and applicable law.
If a privacy law applies to your interaction, you may have additional rights—including rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, appeal, or non-discrimination. You may also contact the relevant regulator. Because this site does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out to process.
This site is not directed to children under 13, and Charlie does not knowingly ask them for personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information can request its removal using the contact above.
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, including limited collection, input validation, rate limits, hashed community identifiers, and moderation controls. No internet service can promise absolute security. Retention depends on the purpose described above, legal requirements, security needs, and provider settings.
This site is operated from the United States. If you visit from another country, information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by service providers. This notice may be updated as the site's features or legal obligations change; the effective date at the top will identify the current version.
Email [email protected]. For public comments, include the page, alias, approximate date, and the text at issue so it can be located without collecting more information than necessary.
